The Best Birthday

Image
Sunday June 8th, 2014 saying goodbye to Rich. He is leaving for 3 months to embark on his next adventure in life as a US Marine. But first, he must earn that title at a brutal boot camp. The second time I channeled a message from mom, it was for me. It was just a few days before my 46 th birthday at the end of that long depressing summer. I was going to see my dad before we left for Richards’s graduation from Marine boot camp in San Diego, California.               M y birthday is 9/11. 9/11/2014 was 'Family Day' for the graduating Marines in Richard's Company. I would finally get to see my son for the first time, after three long months apart, on my birthday! Rich had left for boot camp three days after his high school graduation, 6/8/2014. I missed him beyond words that summer which added to my depression. I couldn’t wait to see him again!           On Saturday, Sept 6th I was going to visit my dad t...

A Message From Mom

Image
It’s a special bond that spans the years. Through laughter, worry, smiles, and tears. A sense of trust that can’t be broken, a depth of love sometimes unspoken. A lifelong friendship built on sharing, hugs and kisses, warmth and caring. Mother and daughter, their hearts as one, a link that can never be undone. ~ Author Unknown I channeled three letters from my mom in the first year following her death. The funeral was scheduled for Saturday, May 17 th , 2014. Randy was still out of town. There was a lot to do before I could go back to help my dad get ready for the funeral. Richard was a senior. He was leaving for boot camp in less than a month to become a Marine. Life is busy anyway at the end of the school year with a senior, trying ...

Until We Meet Again

Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end;  it simply means I'll miss you,  until we meet again.   It was Monday, April 28 th , 2014. I had picked up my nephew from the airport the previous night. We were meeting my sister (his mom), his dad, his step dad, and his brother at my parent’s house. They were coming to see our mom for the last time. We had a really nice day with all of us together. We listened to mom sing her favorite songs. She told us stories of her life. She still had a clear mind. She was in good spirits over all, even though she knew her time here in the physical body was almost up. For my sister and her family, this would be the last time they would see mom alive. At the end of the visit, one by one, each of them said their goodbyes to her. It was a really touching moment to witness. After they all left, I stayed as long as I possibly could before I had to go back to my family. It takes me two hours to drive to my home from thei...
